ABOUT FLETCHER STREET URBAN RIDING CLUB

Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a community-based organization in Philadelphia dedicated to preserving the legacy of Black urban horsemanship while providing a safe, supportive space for local youth.

Rooted in a decades-long tradition, the club offers horseback riding, mentorship, and life skills education to young people, many of whom face systemic challenges in their neighborhoods. Beyond riding, it is a place where discipline, responsibility, and pride are cultivated through the care of horses and the bonds formed within the community.

In the face of ongoing development pressures, Fletcher Street stands as both a cultural landmark and a living example of how community-driven spaces can inspire, uplift, and create lasting change.

At Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club, the horse isn’t just an animal, it is a teacher, a responsibility, and a bridge between generations.
